INITIAL CONTACT
You or a family member reaches out to us.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a home safety evaluation, get in touch with Cohasset Cares. A family member, friend or caregiver can also reach out on a senior's behalf.

IN-HOME-EVALUATION
We come to you.
We'll schedule a convenient time to visit the home, meet with the senior and talk about any safety concerns or challenges they may be experiencing.

RECOMMENDATIONS
We identify practical solutions.
After the evaluation,
we'll review our
findings and discuss recommendations based on the individual needs of the senior and the home.

ACTION VISIT
We come back and
get to work.
When appropriate, we'll schedule a follow-up visit to provide or install the recommended safety improvements.
Our goal isn't to tell you what needs to change — it's to understand what could make life safer and easier. That might mean a grab bar, improved lighting, a smoke or carbon monoxide detector, a handrail or another simple safety improvement.
And there's NO COST to the senior.
Every senior and every home is different. That's why our approach is personal.
During an evaluation, we look at the home as a whole — from entrances and stairs to bathrooms, lighting and other areas where a simple improvement could make everyday life safer and easier.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. We focus on what makes sense for you and your home.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE EVALUATION?
During an in-home safety evaluation, our team may look at areas such as:
Entrances and exits
Stairs and handrails
Bathrooms and bathing areas
Lighting
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
Walking paths and potential fall hazards
Other areas of the home that may present a safety concern
We'll talk with the senior about their daily routines, concerns and needs so recommendations are practical and appropriate for their home.
